Extension
If your start date hasn't passed
FREE first time
Move your I-20 start date forward to a later session. Submit BEFORE the current start date passes — once the date passes without you arriving, SEVIS auto-cancels the I-20 and you'll need Recovery instead.
Recovery
If your start date already passed

Restore an I-20 that SEVIS auto-canceled because you didn't arrive by the start date. Higher fee because we have to re-submit through SEVIS as a recovery, not a simple correction.

Extension rules — please read before requesting:
Submit BEFORE your current start date passes. If it passes without action, SEVIS auto-cancels the I-20 and you'll need Recovery instead.
First extension is FREE (within 1 month, once per SEVIS ID). Subsequent extensions are $150 USD each.
Allow at least 1–2 weeks for the SEVIS team to file the change after your digital-signature email is signed.
The new start date must be a real upcoming session — discuss timing with your Flight Training Consultant first if unsure.
Recovery rules — please read before requesting:
Recovery is only possible while you remain in the SEVIS recovery window (typically 5 months from the I-20 cancellation). Contact enrollment@flyingacademy.com first if you're past that window.
Recovery fee is $250 USD — non-refundable.
Once SEVIS approves, the new start date is treated as a fresh program start. You must arrive in the U.S. and submit the Activate I-20 form within 5 days of the new start date.
If you've been outside the U.S. for more than 5 months since cancellation, Recovery isn't available — you'll need a new I-20 (separate flow, contact your Flight Training Consultant).

You may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before your start date — pick the next session-start date that fits when you can actually arrive. If you need a different date, contact your Flight Training Consultant first.
